Born in Valverde Mao, Dominican Republic, Persio Minier has been painting since age 7, and had his first exhibition in his hometown at Club Quisqeya. Now 59, the prolific artist has completed hundreds of artworks, won numerous awards, and has had his paintings and photographs exhibited and published extensively. Regularly participating in several shows per year, recent exhibition venues include Rio II Gallery, and the New York Public Library in New York City; Santiago Art House, Centro Cultural Dominico Americano de Santiago, and the Historical Archive of Santiago, all in the Dominican Republic.
Minier moved from Valverde Mao, to Santiago, where he took his first art classes, to Manhattan, and finally settled in the Bedford Park section of the Bronx, where he currently has a studio that includes a gallery and frame shop.
