Sima Schloss grew up in a suburb on the South shore of Long Island and studied art at Roger Williams University in Bristol, Rhode Island and graduated in 1993. Sima moved to New York City soon after. Where she says,”My life really began.” Her work is in a number of private and corporate collections including those of Horned Dorset Inn, Miss Sixty Inc., etc. She has recently received her MFA in Painting at Lehman College. She has shown her work in different venues all around the country – from The Prince Street Gallery in New York City, National Wet Paint MFA Biennial 2016 and 2018 at the Zhou B Art Center in Chicago, Illinois. Her work has been featured on the cover of Time Out NY, Artascent and 10010 magazine, etc. Sima is also an adjunct professor at Hostos Community College in the Bronx teaching Art in Humanities. In 2018, she received The Wet Paint Biennial MFA Excellence in Artistic Achievement Award. She participated in the Spring International 2018 Juried Show at the Beacon Gallery in Boston, Massachusetts as well as The Lore Gallery in New York. She participated in the Superfine Art Fairs in Washington DC and Miami, Florida in October and December 2018. In 2019 she has participated in group shows at The Bronx Arts Space and The Atlantic Gallery in New York. Sima is currently in a show with Ibriham Ali- Salam at The Beacon Gallery and will be showing at The Core New Art Space in Denver, Colorado and Jamie Forbes Gallery, Center Moriches, NY.
