Bronx 200

BX200 Launch Party | Photos

The BX200 Official Launch Party was a huge success! We are thrilled that over 300 people attended the event at the Bronx Museum on March 25 to help us celebrate. Thank you for joining us!

It was an honor to meet so many of the fabulous artists on the BX200 site in person and to see their artwork up on the big screen. You made our night and our website! Your art is the main reason the site exists. You are an important part of the vibrant cultural life of the Bronx and we applaud you for your talent and creativity.

In attendance that evening from ABC Carpet & Home were Vice Chairman, Paul Chapman, Vice President, Sue Greenberg as well as Administrative Assistant, Janissa Brown. Without ABC Carpet & Home’s generous donation, the launch party would not have been able to take place. They believed in the BX200 website early on and put their full support behind it, for which we are grateful.

We were also lucky to have Ivan Dockery: BX200 webmaster and owner of Elemental Media in the house! He is one of the most important people behind the scenes. He took the ideas that Laura James and myself had for the Bronx Visual Artist Directory and turned them into a beautiful, easy to navigate site that is worthy of all the amazing art being made in the Bronx! Thank you Ivan from making our dream a reality!

Our guest speaker for the evening was John “Crash” Matos. For many years, John has been creating amazing graffiti art both on city walls and on canvas in the Bronx and beyond. Early in his career, John curated the break out show “Graffiti Art Success for America” at Fashion Moda and has been going strong ever since. He recently opened a gallery he co-founded called WallWorks NY in the Mott Haven section of the Bronx. His commitment both to his art and to the Bronx is inspiring. We were thrilled to have him share some of artistic history with us that evening.

The evening was made even better by the many businesses that supported the launch party. Thank you Barefoot Wines & Bubbly, Bronx Brewery, Gustiamo, Teitel Brothers, Morris Perk and Zaro’s for the donations of tasty food and libations! Flowers arrangements donated by James Weir Floral added to the festive mood.

A huge thank you to Lauren Click, Ron Kavanaugh, Victor De La Cruz and the Bronx Museum for loaning us your fabulous space for the evening and helping to make the party run smoothly! We couldn’t have done it without you!

I’d also like to thank Eileen Walsh, our Director of Outreach and Development for her many contributions to the launch party and beyond. Your dedication the BX200 has been impressive and very much appreciated.

Lastly a big shout out to the many volunteers that night who helped out!
We are grateful to every one of you for making the BX200 Launch Party a huge success!
