Open Call for “Speak Out”
Deadline: January 1, 2016 midnight EST
In response to the continued failure of the US to protect its Black citizens from police discrimination and violence, BronxArtSpace is inviting artists to submit artwork and proposals for events and performances to be considered for our “Speak Out” exhibition from January 20 to February 20, 2016.
Selected works and proposals will affirm that Black lives matter, respond to institutional racism that enables law enforcement to kill Black members of our community with impunity, and/or imagine creative solutions and visionary alternatives to a broken justice system.
Submissions will be reviewed by a panel of artists and curators. Artists will receive notifications by January 8. Delivery of artworks and installation will begin January 12.
