As part of “Casita Maria: 80 Years of Inspiring the Future,” an exhibition that celebrates Casita’s 80th Anniversary through its distinguished Alumni, New York Times Journalist and Photographer David Gonzalez will discuss growing up with Casita Maria and life in the South Bronx with Folklorist, Elena Martínez.

Arturo O’Farrill and Casita Maria are proud to present BLITZ, a new Bronx-based Latin Jazz ensemble. They will be premiering original music inspired by local Bronxites and performing along with interdisciplinary artist collaborators in nontraditional venues throughout the South Bronx.
The musicians that form BLITZ are Arturo O’Farrill, Will Calhoun, Bam Bam Rodríguez, Alejandro Avilés and Kali Rodríguez-Peña. This cultural initiative and free concerts are made possible by the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation and are free, open to the public and for all ages.

Casita Maria and Lincoln Center Boro-Linc Saturdays
Saturdays at 12 PM and 2 PM from March 7th through June 13th at Casita Maria

Boro-Linc, a new borough-based initiative from Lincoln Center, is partnering with Casita Maria to offer special, free family events every Saturday through June 13, 2015. This new program presents a wide range of free performances, workshops, activities and exhibits that include both Lincoln Center and Bronx-based artists and organizations.
