Maria Estevez is a New York City based artist currently living and working in The Bronx. She graduated from Lehman College with a BFA in Photography and a minor in Painting and Dance. Her work varies between documentary photography, mixed media and oil painting. Her favorite themes to explore through her art are motherhood, feminism, and the human body. Maria has shown work in various galleries across New York City such as the BronxArtSpace, the Heath Gallery, the Greenpoint Gallery and La Gitana Rosa Gallery. She is also one of the Photographers featured in The Bronx Artist Documentary Project . She is currently freelancing for an Interior Design company and in the past has worked for The Bronx Children’s Museum, the BronxArtSpace, and interned for No Longer Empty’s “This Side of Paradise” among many other creative organizations.
