Reina Mia Brill is a City Island based artist whose work has been exhibited extensively in the US and internationally. She is the recipient of a Bronx Council for the Arts Grant as well as a New York Foundation on the Arts Fellowship. Her sculptures have been published in over 10 books and many magazines, including the cover of Surface Design in 2009. In October 2011, Reina produced two of her best creations to date: twins Waverly and Thora. Life and art intertwined has been amazing!
Recently, Brill started building dioramas. Intricate scenes steeped in sarcasm and commentaries on society. Each sculpture invites a dialog that every person can smirk at or identify with. Individual characters are first sculpted out of clay and then painted. Scenes using wood, fabric, and resin are built around the figures
