Born in Brooklyn, NY 1967, Michele Brody has a BA from Sarah Lawrence College and an MFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She has shown both nationally and internationally in France, Costa Rica, California, the Midwest, Germany, Taiwan and New York City. She has received an artist grant or residency every year since 1994 – including the Pollock/Krasner Foundation, New York Foundation for the Arts, Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation, Marin Headlands Center for the Arts, Marie Walsh Sharpe Art Foundation and Emmanuel College. She has completed two permanent works of public art in the Bronx for the MTA and the Department of Education’s Public Art for Public Schools program. In 2011 she was awarded the Best 3-D Entry at the international competition Art Prize in Grand Rapids, MI by juror Glenn Harper, for the installation Nature Preserve.
