Iowa native, Mia Scotia, spent her youth studying the arts. As a Contemporary artist, Scotia has expressed her love of storytelling in several genres of art, most recently, photography. Scotia has studied fine art at Clarke College and Loras College, Dubuque, Ia.; oxyacetylene welding at The Art Students League of New York and New York Education Alliance, New York, NY; and performance art at Bloom School of Jazz, Chicago, IL, John Pallotta’s Theatre 33, New York, NY, and HB Studios, New York, NY. Scotia spent 10 years in Chicago where she readily took advantage of the city’s diverse artistic communities, which lead to an introduction to photography. Currently residing in The Bronx, NY, Mia Scotia continues her endeavors as a Contemporary artist, and plans to produce a series of abstract works in various media.
