Eileen McNamee was born and raised in The Bronx and has a spent most of her life there. She received her BA from Herbert H Lehman College. Photography became a serious hobby for her about 10 years ago, although she had always dabbled in the arts, first in drawing and then jewelry design, mosaics and finally photography. She began doing photography professionally about 5 years ago. Her concentration in photography has been landscapes, portraits and nature images. Eileen’s work reflects her curiosity about the world around her and her profound love of science, culture, travel and nature. Through her photography, she seeks to document experiences, capture scenes and events and open up the diversity of the world as she experiences it. Living in New York City, and specifically The Bronx, opens a world of many different cultures. She seeks to show the natural beauty in the city she lives in, as well as places around the world. She has been active in many local exhibitions over the past several years.
